Hello…Tech? Hello …Digital? Don’t you see me?
Every day I check my twitter account to see what is going in the digital space and beyond. I love checking out top list in tech or digital. My first thought is cool let me see who these women are. When I click on the link I was excited to see the diffent types of women on the list. As I scroll down the list. I notice that there were no women of color. I am thinking that I ‘m going to see a “Sista” or a “Latina” face soon. But when I got to the end of the list- there were none. I thought there was a mistake and I scroll down the list again. I was like really?!? I was so annoyed that I did not have even had the words to speak.
I decided to create a flipboard magazine titled “Techncolor” the goal was to put a the spotlight on these women of color who are breaking down barriers in the technology and digital media industries. It was important for me to show their faces first, then the story. Letting the world know that “We are out here”!
